Jeanette Wagner was born in Heidelberg in 1968. After receiving a diploma in media consultancy, she studied directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin. "lovechild" is her thesis film. Wagner received a grant from the EBU (European Television Broadcasting Union) in 2003 and has studied film acting and directing under Dieter Wardetzky since 2001. She has taught film acting at the Berlin School for Acting, at the Munich Academy for Television and Film and at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin and works as a private acting coach. The opening spectacle "Flambée-Human Facets" at EXPO 2000 included her video work.
